The importance of basic physics

This semester I am teaching basic physics to engineering students and I often have to remind them the importance of learning physics. And also that all I teach really applies to the real life and happens all the time. For those who don't believe in the amazing effects produced by torque there is a surprising example in a sequence of photos that I found at Illuminating Science . When will they learn?
